Well Paris has certainly made up for it's poor first day showing. On a sad note to begin with, those of you who know me well will be disheartened to hear that the pair of sunglasses that mounted my forehead for six years, today fell from there perch and were shattered. It grieves me much that they are beyond help......but on the plus side, hello duty free.
Heidi and I had a great day in Paris. We navigated the metro like a couple of pros. We spent the entire day doing everything touristy, from the Eiffel Tower, to the Louvre (by the way if you're planning a visit here and the Louvre is on your list, allow 2-4 days). We ate lunch on the Champs Élysée and meandered around the Arc Triomphe and visited Notre Dame.
Tonight was another excellent French meal, this time in the shadow of the Sacre Coure. The booze is so cheap here and the produce for dinner so fresh. Heidi and I both enjoyed breads, cheese and meat (including a couple of questionable ones), followed by fresh chocolate brownies we grabbed at a patisserie.
