She says: One quick night in Tokyo. Our very limited experience with Japan has been alternately confusing, overwhelming and charming. Tokyo is clean and shockingly quiet despite the huge masses of humanity everywhere.

He says: I`m sitting here at Narita airport in Tokyo before boarding a plane to head to Korea. Our 24 hours in Tokyo have been a blast. The subway sytem is overwhelmingly complex with lines going every direction, it makes NYC or Toronto look like amateur hour. I really tried to sleep during our 13 hour journey here, but I only managed a few hours rest due to excitement. We met really nice people everywhere we went, many of whom spoke little to no English but were happy to try to help us navigate our way to our hotel located in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. We also got some great directions from an American student named Josh who took us under his wing at a subway station and showed us the way to Shibuia (aka the busiest intersection in the world). Shauna and I have both remarked how quiet Tokyo is despite being a bussling city centre home to 12-million people. Even people on the street who are handing out coupons to restaurants or nightclubs do so in a very polite, non-intrusive manner. No doubt this is a pretty special place.

Kim Well put...but are you tempted to return?
Michael law Sounds like a neat place. Great use of the word "bustling" Matt. In tomorrow's blog we need you to work in the word "quintessential". Have fun and keep on bloggin'.
Shauna Thanks Mike and Kim for reading and most of all, for commenting. We would for sure like to come back to Tokyo and explore surrounding areas also. My #1 thing to see in Tokyo was a cat cafe and we just didn't have time. That in itself is a reason to go back!
