Forgot to say that of course it was the Great Barrier Reef we snorkelled on yesterday.
Today the sea was dead flat whereas yesterday it was choppy. Made for a very exciting trip with less people so was good.
This morning we were up again at the crack of dawn. Our bus picked us up at 6.50am for a trip north to Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation.
Catherine would have been bored with this, but we really enjoyed it.
We started off getting 'smoked' by an aborigine (evidentially a welcome gesture) then were shown how they hunted and lived in the forest. We had morning tea - they don't have morning coffee here it's all tea. We then went up into the Rainforest and had a walk in the Mossman Gorge. A bit later on we stopped and were told to walk down a path for 5 mins where we would find our lunch. In a clearing we found an open ended A frame building with a woman cooking at a BBQ. We had fish, sausage, and steak with salad, pasta, and coleslaw followed by fresh tropical fruit. Tasted Dragon Fruit today for the first time and it was very pleasant.
We were taken to Cape Tribulation and allowed to walk on the beach but not to paddle - saltwater crocodiles and jellyfish. Such a pity because it was the most idyllic beach. Back on the bus again and we finished the day with a river cruise. The guy who took us knew the river like the back of his hand and we saw crocodile,1 adult, 3 babies who were only about 12" - 18" long and some beautiful birds.
Back to Cairns after a 12hr day - tough this holiday business. We did pass 2 beautiful golf courses both today and yesterday and never saw anyone playing - criminal.
Off again tomorrow and hoping that the wet weather is moving south faster than we are. It has certainly been a beautiful day today.

Diego Maradona Well I've just got back from Wembley after watching Sergio Aguero put City in the FA Cup final. Now got £2 riding on Angel Cabrera to win the Masters. Haven't had this much fun from a pair of Argies since visiting the KitKat club Buenos Aires, 2007
