Again I'm writing this on my last night here. I spent my first say here going to the Japanese garden and castle. The garden is apparently one of the top 3 gardens in japan and was pretty amazing. The only thing that spoiled it slightly was the fact it was raining again so I didn't spend as long as I wanted to to go round it. The castle I looked round on the way to the gardens. Like most castles in japan it is a concrete replica but still looked good. And it was my first time seeing a Japanese castle. Had a chicken katsui curry here to in a fast food type place. All I can say is much better than McDonalds. Today I went to the Geisha and samurai areas of the city, the place is much bigger than takayama but everywhere is still walking distance to the hostel. The two traditional areas were good but not quite as nice as at takayama. I also had a look round the food/ fish Market on my way back to the hostel. Such a odd mixture of smells and I didn't know what half the fish were but was a lot of fun.
The hostel I'm staying at here is possible the best one so far. The guy that owns it cooked me a pasta meal tonight, which saved me some money woop.
While I was here I also had my first pachinko experience. The machines are confusing and it took a while for someone to explain to me what I had to do in Japanese. The actual pachinko parlour was loud, filled with smoke and stank of beer, quite an amusing place. The parities are supposed to be run or connected to the yakuza.
