Straight to the bike garage to sort my bike out! Mechanic said come back around 2pm so we walked around main Bac Kan town centre looked at few shops trying to get some bargains but nothing caught our eye really. Stopped off in a coffee shop the Vietnamese coffee is seriously good. Dropped by to see how my bike was getting on, it was done! Chuffed is an understatement all went well cost me 300,000 dong so about 11 quid dunno what he done to it but it works fine now summit to do with the engine is all we could get out of him. With that got showered, packed our stuff up got some food then hit the road to Ba Be National Park around 80km away from where we were. Nice ride through villages always getting waved at by the locals and kids. Views again, seriously nice especially the rice fields. About 2 hours in the weather turned and clouds were darker and darker before it started chucking down. Turned round to hide underneath a locals front part of their house where they gave us water and some peanuts to go through to let the monsoon pass. Proper raining cats and dogs. Few card games and 2 hours passed, still tipping down so we bought some rain jackets from the locals and just went in the rain, absolutely soaked. Good tests for our covered rucksacks as they were strapped to the bikes getting soaked. Around 2 hours in and we had made it to Ba Be National Park, this time it was mainly Willem with the problem with his bike I returned the favour from yesterday and was pushing him and he was holding onto my arm when I was accelerating dragging him across! Bas also had problems and Guus was running seriously low on fuel but couldn't find anywhere serious mission around this park. Beautiful scenery me and Guus got some pictures as we were at the front of the lake in the middle of the park, Willem and Bas were seriously struggling up hills. Guus got some fuel and in the park for a fair amount of time, Willem's bike died we had to find Mr Lingh's home stay but it was so far everyone we spoke to just said keep going on. Raining like mad and getting late we finally made it to the home stay like drowned rats and wounded bikes - this was day 2 of the month long ride haha! :) Got a dorm, ants everywhere in the toilets and showers but weren't bothered just wanted to get showered, eat and then chill. Food was just noodles which was fine spoke to the workers about a plan for tomorrow, hoping rain stays off it hampers the ride massively!
