Woke up on and off at around 12pm those beds were amazing in our upgraded room my days! So comfy I couldn't get out of bed. Chilled out day today I met up with Laura, Bas, Guus and Willem as I was just sparked out when they left for breakfast and then in main Hanoi. Had a walk around the city the roads are seriously mental here need eyes EVERYWHERE. I found a phone shop finally and ended up getting a iPhone 5 for just over 5 million dong (£155) hoping that a iCloud backup restore from my old phone would work but need to sort the firmware first and wireless is too bad to do over here. Got some trekking shoes as well ready for the Halong Bay trip and then we headed past a cathedral and finally ending up at the Hoa In Prison in Hanoi that the Americans call 'Hanoi Hilton'. This prison was used in the 1800's and throughout the Vietnam war John McCain who ran for presidency few years ago was captured and kept here there is a part of the prison with his story and clothes etc from when he was captured. The prison which is now a museum was a pretty eerie place and reading up on what happened in the cells was horrible to read made us all feel really uneasy. The death row units where they were just shackled in a tiny room and basically left to die on no food and being in that room that probably hundreds of people have been was rough. In most rooms they had manikins so you could see how they were all kept there. The beheading relic as well was also nice to visualise especially as some cells were placed so you could fully see the execution. All felt pretty grim after! Got a taxi back to our hostel and chilled out for a bit I was having problems with my phone it needed to be wiped to factory settings and needed a PC with iTunes our PC's at the hostel still had Windows XP which iTunes cannot run on so me and Willem went to another hostel and luckily they had a Mac but the Internet was so slow so I just ended up going back to the phone shop about a 20 minute walk and getting them to sort. Nightmare to sort out here took ages and they all seemed very uninterested to help me but as soon as a local walked him they would help straight away. Stayed there for a bit to sort my apps out and check all was ok and then walked back to the hostel. Ended up going back to the hostel me and Bas got our haircut which was eventful in a proper salon had a hair wash, massage, ear massage which was weird took about an hour all in all normally last 10 minutes at Mikey's! After that we went to the hostel me and Willem went to try and sort my phone as it seemed like a decent party in there so few games of beer pong I had the biggest nachos I have ever had as haven't eaten anything today really and we just stayed there. Guus met us after his eventful flight getting stopped at the airport as he had all Willem's medication for his stomach on him! Bad times but all got through in the end. Few drinks in there every hour was like free shots a girl was pouring sambuca in our mouths standing on the bar on the dance floor everyone there was having a great crack. One girl was para with me and Guus making us spank her with her flip flops she was by far the easiest girl in Vietnam that night haha! We went to the back smoking area and she was there again falling into tables and trying to karate kick one of the guys who works there! She was hammered! Laura was with a guy who she was with in Pai who randomly bumped into us so we all came back to our hostel after and Matt this guy wanted to stay in our room as he was couch surfing and he was too late to get into his home stay but we couldn't have more than 5 in our room so he basically couldn't stay. Laura was interested anyway so we all stayed up for a bit and then hit the sack the beds were amazing especially compared to where we were in Pai, a bed with no ants or cockroaches is always better so went out like a light straight away!
