Selina´s Travels
Sat 30th September
Today we decided that we would go to Puzzleworld and act like kid's for the day!
After getting our tickets we first headed off to the great maze which had two storeys...at first i thought...this will be easy...it's just for kids!
after reading the rules, we split up into teams and headed off in opposite directions. the aim was to get to all four coloured corners and then to find the exit in the quickest time possible. Beth's logical brain found us the towers in no time but finding the exit was a whole different ball game! After wondering around in circles, hitting millions of dead end and bumping into Rita and El's quite a few times we decided to stop and think how we needed to get out of the maze. after 5 mins of studying the layout, we raced to the exit...loving the fact that Rita and Ellie weren't there before us!! (i know its only a game but it doesn't take much for the competitive side to come out in me!!)
Beth and i rewarded ourselves with an ice cream while we watch Rita and Ellie trying to find a way out. After 25 mins later they came through the exit door craving a cold pint to be unfortunately told that Puzzleworld didn't serve alcohol!!
After a quick rest we entered the four illusion rooms. these were quite cool, holligrams and rooms angled in wierd ways!
After hours of fun, we left, had our lunch and decided to take a walk up Mount Iron. The hill was quite steep but we eventually got to the top and true to word of mouth, the view was amazing! We took a couple of pix and then headed back down the 'loop' track. Disaster started when we got to the bottom and came out at the wrong car park. So we turned back and went down the other track. turns out this was wrong as well. to cut a long story short, we walked around for over an hour and a half trying to find the car and eventually, after asking about 5 people directions we found it!
We got back and had a deserved glass of wine and got ready to go out! Wanaka is really small so we only went to a couple of bars and ended the night watching Bolton beat Liverpool 2-0!!
Sun 1st - Weds 4th
We decided to stay in Wanaka a little longer than planned and chill for a couple of days. We did all our internet errands, washing etc and took a nice walk around the lake!
