On the trip up from Kaikoura we stopped at a lookout to watch the fur seals, that was really great to see! There were hundreds of them and most of the adults just lazed around on beach in sun, while the young ones were playing in the pools and fighting! So very much like humans really! Well we survived the 3 hour ferry trip from the south to north island! We were very tempted to fly it in just 25 min, but thought that was a bit grand for us lil backpackers! The ferry seemed to take more than 3 hours and we weren't feeling too great when we got off but it was only a quick trip into the centre of Wellington and our hostels! Stayed in nice hostel with the poshest bathrooms we've ever seen!! We visited the Tepapa museum which was fun and you could have spent all day there and not seen everything! Took a trip to the cinema too and watched a really cool film, Sahara (Good choice Sean!). We celebrated my Birthday here and took a trip round a few sights, houses of parliment, botanical gardens etc. The gardens were nice but up a massive hill!! We had huge ice creams and lazed round for ret of day, till we had a massive meal and watched more films! a great day!
