Avoiding Death, Disease and Diarrhoea
We decided to hire a car and do the south coast area ourselves. Its was so much fun and better than the big green bus!! We visited Dunedin (home of rugby) first, i tried getting tickets to watch the Brumbies vs. super 12 but i couldnt. Dunedin is soo nice i could of stayed there for ever!! well not ever but a long time!
Next was to the Catlins area on the south coast, it reminds me of Cornwall down here because of all the quaint little fishing villages, stunning bays and headland and the Rolling green hills behind us. We ended up visiting waterfalls, Jacks blow hole, Roaring bay (where we saw penguins!!!) and all the points that we could get to fot the stunnig views including Negget point (there be gold in these ere hills!!!). We ended up in the best little cottage house ever to sleep, it was like a farm house inside and was surrounded by sheep!
Next we visited Bluff to stand by the most southern signpost in Nz (sad i know). We then went to Gore and onto Kelso. We watcehd a local rugby match and later on ended up in the pub with them. It was one of the best nights out i have ever had!!! I have learnt pool kiwi style, which was fun! Most of them were farmers and were huge but so friendly its funny how apperences can be deceiving!!
Then back to Queenstown, all fealing a bit ruff after but it was well worth it, wasnt it Alicia???
