We made it to Naples! We were sad to leave Sorrento though. If I was to change one thing it would be to have an extra night in Sorrento and forgot Naples completely. And while Sean and I are sad to leave Italy, we are both ready to come back home to see our friends, family, and our boys.
Fortunately our hotel in Sorrento was accommodating enough to provide us with a shuttle that took us straight to our hotel in Naples. We found him this time. However, there was a mishap...... When the driver was picking up another couple from another hotel my baggage fell out of the back when he opened it to put in the other luggage. I thought everything would be fine, until we got into our hotel room and I was laying on the bed........ and I noticed something wet on the bed.......... only to realize that one of the bottles of wine we bought in Tuscany broke! RED WINE And to top it off this was the first time I did not pack my clothes in plastic so I have a number of clothes ruined. Sean and I were running around throwing clothes out of my bag and putting them in the sink to see what we could save. THe maid came into change the bed spread, were using whatever spot treatment we have left. Sean's talking about how he's going to make a complaint to the shuttle company when all of a sudden we just stop and laugh. Of coarse this would happen on our last day and now Sean can make a joke on me that not only has one bottle of wine broken in my possession, but now two! Two Bottles! Its like two pies.......... I think the silver lining here is that this easily could have happened after we checked our luggage in at the airport and then my clothes would be sitting in red wine for 13 hours. In the current scenario they were only soaking for about 20 min. THe nice thing about clothes is that they are replaceable and fortunately we bought two other wines from Tuscany to still enjoy (hopefully, fingers crossed)
So were getting set up for our 6:30 am flight back home. We will not be doing any exploring around Naples, the area that were in looks like the equivalent to East LA. The hotel is actually very nice though. Private bathroom.... awesome (especially considering I have to hang dry my wine soaked clothes)
This has been the trip of a life time. Dream come true. 2nd honeymoon. With my love. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!
I am hoping and praying that I do not get sick on the flight back. I am taking motion sickness medicine, not drinking any wine, and not eating the airline food. Hopefully that works. Unless something crazy happens between now and when we get home this will be the last entry for this trip. Our next big adventure will be Sean's dream: Ireland, Scotland, Iceland. Arrivederci!!!
