Last night we caught a taxi to Grand Central Station, what an awesome place this is, cannot believe the size of it, I could just stand in the grand hall all day and watch the world go by, it is massive. There are corridors leading off it everywhere, I think we saw a sign to tacks 100 to 117. Saw some trains leaving mostly for Connecticut, very comfy they look too, then found the Grand a central Market where you can once again just about buy any kind of food you can imagine, I got stuck at the chicken schnitzel and potato fritters, seems they go in there and buy dinner on the way home, nobody cooks around here much and I can see why, it really is all there at your fingertips.
They very much cater for the take out meals and have containers to fit everything, even specials ones for individual cupcakes, I am loving it, never having to cook....love it.
We had dinner downstairs, there is a dining concourse with tables in the middle, took us 20 minutes I would say just to walk around and choose what to have, we all got something different and met up in the middle.
There were people everywhere and some running to catch their 9 o'clock train home with probably a 1 to 2 hour train ride ahead of them, I would buy dinner too.
Today is freezing and raining lightly, we decided to catch the Staten Island Ferry which is a free service run by the city. It goes right past the Statue of Liberty but we really chose a bad day weather wise, it was cold and windy and visibility for photos was not very good, but got some shots anyway.
Too cold to do much more sightseeing so back to our hotel to do some more laundry, definitely not enough warm clothes, Robert even had to buy a coat and gloves and he is wearing them..lol...but they had to be washed today because his hot soup he got over on Staten Island ended up on his gloves, his coat and I think even his jumper, some did make it into his mouth (I think) nothing new for him though.
Not going to venture far for dinner tonight, it is soooo cold.
