We arrived in Cairns with our first stop being at a chemist to buy some strapping tape for me as I twisted my ankle on a path when in Kuranda - not happy Jan, our second stop was to our friends home in Moorooboola where we will call home for the next 5 nights and the much impending wedding of their daughter Tanya and husband to be Peter. We have known Tracy and Graeme since our Kalgoorlie days some 26 years ago.
After some skillful reversing by Mal we secure the van on the front lawn between the palm trees
Long time friends of Graeme's and Tracy arrive on the Sunday night - Cheryl and Greg and so the 4 Musketeers are revived a little slower but none the less ready and armed for our tasks at hand to assist with all the last night minute fine tuning of the wedding plans and props.
We spend great times together laughing, eating and drinking and meeting family and extended members, Tanya's 3 sisters are bridesmaids and so with their partners the house was often like the Waltons.
We moved the van into Ellis Beach CVP on the wednesday and having our last night with the mob before moving in there on the Thursday.
Saturday 20th September 2014 the wedding day and the weather is perfect. We do the final set up stairs at the reception with the lights and decor and it looks amazing - a masterpiece well we think so anyway LOL.
The wedding ceremony was beautiful on the beach at Palm Cove and then to the reception at the Sarayai, the night was fantastic with one of the highlight of the night the fireworks going off with a bang from the barge on the water, Tanya's wedding dream, well done Mum and Dad.
After a lazy sunday morning breakfast in Palm Cove and farewells to all we headed back to Ellis Beach enjoying the beach, it is a lovely friendly little caravan park but it was just a shame that is was on the Cook Highway and road noise was pretty constant :(
On Tuesday we set off again, a little unsure of where and how long we will stay anywhere but our first destination is through Cardwell and onto Taylors Beach.
so for now bye from the great outdoors.
