Tuesday (22nd) Early start for the trip to 'Xantinitch - Mayn ruins'. Took the boat taxi to the main land follower by a massive 3 hour drive! It was a bit of a trek but was worth it when we got there. Has a guided tour around the ruins and climbed right to the top. Clare got a bit wobblerly and ha to cling to the wall. Thursday (17th) An early start for the Monkey river tour. We were picked up by boat and taken, through the in-land waters through the mangroves to a village called 'Monkey river', Manatee spotting on the way. We picked up our guide and headed down the monkey river. The guide was a local villager giving us bits of info on the wildlife and stuff and we sailed down. We got off the boat for a trek in the jungle to hunt down the 'Howling Monkeys'. It was pretty dense...

Wed (16th) cont.... Placencia is situated on Main-land Belize but is split from land by in-land waterways so you still need a water taxi to get around and to get to the Main-land. Trade winds, where we were staying is at the most southerly tip of Placencia on a stretch of beach called 'Pleasent Point'. The Sea Horse dive shop was 2 min away on a small pier. The Cabana was fantastic, very basic but esentiall just a wooden hut on the beach looking out to sea. wow!...

Tuesday (15th) 5.30 am start! Headed to Frenchy's for the Blue hole dive...... .... it was canceled...the wind were too strong to get the boat out there! pah we're British do they not know the conditions that we put up with in the UK!! We turned round and walked the path of disappointment back to the cabana, to the sound of the bully (bullseye) bom bom bom bom bom! our heads hung low dragging the dive kit behind us- "look at what you could have won!" ...

Thursday (10th) Scott foraged through the neighborhood for breakfast, he found a bakery and came up trumps again. Had a full day of diving planned, we got picked up from our cabana in a golf cart and taken to Belize Diving Services.
