Saz and Dave's travels
We woke up early today to the noise of cows mooing beneath us, chickens and dogs and the family getting up for work/school - school starts at 7am here! We had a nice breakfast of baguette with banana and condensed milk then after thanking the family we got in the mini-bus for our 4 hour drive to Sihanoukville - the beach at last!!
When we arrived at Sihanoukville we had lunch by the main roundabout which displays two enormous gold lions that look like they are doing rude things (see picture!) - we had burgers and they were delicious. After lunch we took a load of washing to the local laundry including daves sweaty sweaty footy stuff from the homestay yesterday (I feel so sorry for them) and then headed to the beach.
As soon as we got to the beach we got straight in the sea which was so warm - like a bath which we had never experienced before. There were loads of tiny tropical fish that kept swimming up to us which was cool. It was a bit wierd though as all the locals swim fully clothed and we felt a bit underdressed!
After a swim we lay in deck chairs for a while and some people got cocktails.
We went out for tea at Happy Herb Pizza and then for drinks at Monkey Republic - A British run bar with free pool table and table football great stuff!
