Today was my last full day on the islands. I took the ferry back to San Cristobal at 7 am from Santa Cruz and the ride was smoother this time. I went to the Hacienda quickly to get a few items I forgot. My friend asked if I wanted to go on a few hour trip to Isla Lobos which is a small island about 30 minutes away from San Cristobal. I had breakfast and hung out at the beach until I needed to leave around 2. My friend was the guide so I was able to go on the top of the boat to have a better view of Isla Lobos. We took a tour around the island and saw Lava Iguanas, blue footed boobies, sea lions, and frigate birds with the large red neck. The little secluded island was beautiful with the lava rocks and view of kicker rock in the distance. It was my last day so I was ecstatic to finally see blue footed boobies and lava iguanas; I didn't see them my whole trip!! We snorkeled for an hour and of course I had issues with my gear again. I almost lost both of my flippers after jumping into the water. The snorkel was wonderful with lots of fish and a sea lion who played with an oyster shell underwater. Certainly one of the highlights of my trip! I came back to watch the final sunset at Playa Mann :( So beautiful! I then had a yummy dinner and finished my night spending time with the last bit of friends who were still in town. I am incredibly sad to leave as the island is beautiful, the culture is unlike any I've ever experienced, and I've met so many amazing friends. Tomorrow is going to be a very sad sad day. On the upside, I do have a friend from the Hacienda leaving the same time as me and we share 2 of the same planes so it will be nice to travel together.
