Hi Guys! Sorry its been a while but the internet access in Australia isnt as easy to find as in Asia! So, we landed in Brisbane last Sunday after a 7 hour flight from Singapore. We managed to find a hostel pretty quick and just went straight to bed as we arrived at about 8 am and were really tired after the flight. We woke up at about 1pm and decided to have a look around the town. The accomodation in Oz is pretty strange as its all dormatory accomodation and you have to sleep in a room (bunk beds i have to add!) with about 8-9 other people that you have never meet before, how odd! The bathrooms and kitchens are all communal too, it feels like im back at uni! To be honest we didnt really do much sight seeing in Brisbane as there isnt that much to see, just lots of shops! We had to buy a few jumpers and a pair of jeans each as the weather here is quite a bit colder than Asia and we only have shorts and t-shirts with us! It felt really strange putting on a pair of jeans after not wearing trousers for nearly 3 months! We meet two girls in our dorm who are from Tilehurst, Reading! What a small world! We went out with them to the bar that was in our hostel, it was a really good bar actually so we drank there both of our nights in Brisbane! Thats the real reason we didnt do much sight seeing, we had hangovers both days, oopps! We left Brisbane to travel down to Byron Bay where we are now. It was about a three hour bus ride which seemed easy after the 25 hours we had to endure in Asia on the most awful coaches! Byron Bay is a little seaside town, with loads of cool and funky shops, bars and restaurants. Its really laid back and hippy here, i feel like im living in a hippy commune! We are staying in dorm with 8 other girls so its been a bit hectic the last couple of days and ive had virtually no sleep as its quite noisy to say the least! I also have tonsilitus at the moment which a bit of a downer on things as i fekt really run down yesterday and when you are ill the only thing you want is your own bed! Im on antibiotics now so hopefully it will clear up soon! We are jsut chilling out here and are about to go on the beach but its not really sun bathing weather at the moment! Its their winter here in Oz, nothing compared to English standards as its still about 22-25 degrees but it seems cold after being in 30 plus heat for 3 months! We are leaving Byron Bay tomorrow and travelling up to Surfers Paradise which is meant to be a real party town, hence the name! I will tey and upload some photos soon as i havent done so for a while!
