I woke up to a turquoise coloured lake which was extremely beautiful to see and it was the perfect start of the first proper day in New Zealand. It was 10.30am when we woke up which was deservedly needed after two long days previously. We arrived at the lake in the evening so we didn't have a chance to see the turquoise coloured lake properly, we was glad that we decided to stop there in the area of waimate junction. After putting our sheets, duvets, and pillows away, we set off to Dunedin which was 2 hours drive ahead. Along the way I saw some picturesque snow covered mountains with numerous of sheep grazing on fields, I agree with the fact that New Zealand is more populated with sheep, 60 million of them than human beings because there were so many sheep I could see! "Life is a bit different in the land of long White clouds, 60 millions of woolly animals with the glaciated valleys" I had to put this lovely quote in my blog as I thought it was an perfect quote to describe New Zealand. We finally arrived in Dunedin and went straight to the campsite to reserve our plot for later on as we needed it to charge up the motorhome or camper-van as we call it! 17 dollars it cost us each which I thought was not too bad because we could charge our mobiles, cameras and use the electrical facilities in the motorhome such as toaster, microwave and heater. We went food shopping after drawing up a list of dinner every night until the end of our stay in New Zealand. Ashley cooked shepherd pie for all of us as we agreed that we would take turns in cooking apart from Charlene who does all of the driving. The shepherd pie was really lovely but I told him that he didn't do it right as he didn't put gravy in the mincemeat when cooked instead he opted to put gravy on a separate jug to pour which is doable...I guess I have become used to my mum's and dad's cooking! It reminded me of how much I miss their impeccable skills of cooking!
