After arriving at shanghai railway station at around 9.30am, we waited for a friend Neil with his fellow Chinese friends after he contacted dominic that he was still near to shanghai therefore we all decided to meet up with him. After a half hour, he texted dominic to say they would be running late as stuck in the traffic so we decided that while we were waiting, two of us should go find out more about train tickets availability from shanghai to hong kong. It seemed to be available but the woman on the ticket desk looked like she didn't know fully. We opted to go back to rest of the group and filled them in. Finally Neil arrived with his deaf Chinese friends and one of them kindly offered to book tickets for us with her great ability of writing Chinese. We all went to train ticket office and was told that the next train to hong kong would be on 8th august 2011! We were worried but neil's friend sorted it out speedily in her own language and managed to get us on a train to Shenzhen which is nearer to hong kong with the distance between them just one and half hour. At least we would be closer to hong kong, we would have to get an additional domestic train to hong kong from Shenzhen. The friends of neil's bought us all a drink and insisted on paying our meal, we didn't want to let them but they wouldn't take a no for an answer! They was so kind and friendly and I was happy to meet other deaf people from different culture and countries. When we departed to get a taxi to get to our hostel which was in the central city youth intentional hostel utels, the taxi we got on dropped us off to wrong hostel and we had to walk additional 15 minutes to get to our original hostel. Later on the evening when we got settled to our new surroundings and happily discovering that two of us girls put in an only girls dorm, we got a text from Neil saying that one of his Chinese friend cried when we left because she enjoyed our day together. We was honoured to hear that she liked our day together. The hostel exceeded our expections with their good service and clean dorms. There was a good bar, cafe and free breakfast buffet, free wifi! 200 yuan for 4 night was a good price. We exceptionally enjoyed our day with some eventful things happening and a fantastic experience which will never be forgotten for a long time yet!
