20 hours on a train has exhausted us all but funnily enough, Dominic was excited enough to go straight to Mcdonalds just after we arrived at shenzhen station from shanghai, he was so hungry but he was disappointed that they only sold breakfast menu at the time of 10.00 in morning! he wanted to have a big mac with fries....afterwards we went to find out how we could get to our hotel in shenzhen, my legs was itching so bad from fly-bites, it bled a bit with scabs forming all over my legs, what a awful sight to look at, fly-bites..... i felt like saying "keep away from my blood!" lol Eventually we got a taxi to go to our hotel and we realised it was quite far away from the central but it was cheap and better than nothing, after twenty minutes of the journey we finally arrived at the hotel. it was nice with the floor clean, pictures put up in correct posture and lifts was working! :) the reception and all of us commuciated via google translator technology which is pretty much the funny thing during our stay in shenzhen. we got two separate private rooms so me and charlene shared one and the lads shared. Straight away i dived in the shower, i cant describe how good i felt because after that train journey it was tiring and uncomfortable especially with my fly-bites. we got freshed up and went to explore what shenzhen was like. It was a bit disappointing as there was nothing exciting to see...we were hungry so we eventually found a restaurant on sight which was KFC! i ordered chicken nuggets and fries which was quite lovely, tender and soft chicken unlike Mcdonalds chicken nuggets. we decided to try to find a subway for the next morning to go to hong kong. We walked for a hour until we finally found the subway because it was so blended in with the ongoing building work as you can see from the gruesome picture! it actually felt like a building site everywhere we walked to, we all certainly didnt like staying in shenzhen but it was an interesting experience to see what china is really like without all these popular cities of shanghai etc. We went to have a look around in the shenzhen and found that they had nothing to offer apart from windows of world but it required all day which we dont have seeing that we arrived late morning however to be fair shenzhen seemed to be expanding with the building work going on. Let just say that i would not be interested to go to shenzhen again until it improves!
