Today I woke up feeling energised, ready to start the day by getting used to dormitory room as i had got in a habit with the comfort of a private room and having to walk to shower in my PJs! I am not complaining though ad the hostel is great. I had pancakes with chocolate, it was a bit different compared to back home and europe but it was good. We all went to see the pearl oriental tower expecting it to cost us 50yuan but it was 120yuan. We felt it was too much for us to pay so we opted to go to on sightseeing bus which was a bit rubbish in my opinion because I paid 20 yuan for it and the tour finished in like 20 minutes...hmm. We went to Nanjing street which was filled with shops and fast foods outlets with couple of higher classed stores like Chanel. It was pleasing to browse but not good knowing I won't buy anything seeing that I am on a travelling budget! :-) we were a bit tired after an eventful day previously so we trailed back to our hostel, on the way i saw a Chinese little girl peeing in public on the full view of busy roads, i thought how disgusting that is?! But i keep reminding myself that it is their culture. We discussed what we wanted to do for the rest of evening and the next day. We decided to just chill out and play cards on the evening and as for next day we intend to go to yuyuan garden and bazaar. Overall today has been a good day with a relaxed approach.

michael Hi Sara, glad you are having a good time. you are right experiencing other cultures is often suprising , shocking enlightening etc but always a valuable lesson in life. Your blogs are great to read but more about China and less about Ashers toileting requirements please! Be safe Love Michael xxx
Margaret Worrell Hi Sara, I love your blogs. Its become my favourite soap but true! Hope you can keep the blogging up. Your Chinese experiences are very colourful (and Ashers but in a different way) and will probably be quite different to the rest of your trip being Far Eastern. Love Ashers Gran
Judy Hi Sara, Im seriously impressed with your ability to restrain yourself from Chanel and I wonder whether you had that chocolate pancake to console yourself?? I enjoy the way you write about your experiences. You would make a good journalist (not for The News of The World obviously!!) It's good that you are being accomodating of different cultural norms, when you think about it, there's plenty of peeing on the street on a saturday night out in the UK streets too!! Anyway, lets not go there, lol!! Sara, keep on having a wonderful time. Keep on looking out for oneanother. Judy. x
