After completing the Advanced Open Water course I will admit I have been at a little bit of a loss as of what to do with myself over the past couple of days. Perhaps I shouldn't have done all my diving in the first week...ho hum.
Sunday saw Sam, James, Danielle and I attempt to go bouldering on the Koh Tao hillside. It was good, apart from the fact that we went rather late in the day and it got really dark really quickly. After one failed attempt I have deduced...climbing walls inside are the way to go! And this is not because of James' jibe at me making excuses for being a climbing failure! Afterwards we went down to see the trapeze show. Well...we got a little bit delayed because someone left the Quad bike key in the grass in the dark so James had a small safari mission of his own before we went and settled down to the show.
However, whilst waiting for him, Sam, Danielle and I went into the trapeze place and Sam and I got to try the trapeze practice bar. It's actually a lot harder than you think...certainly made me think I need to start getting myself down the damn gym again that's for sure! The show was ok but the performers did keep missing the catch and falling into the net which I am sure is not really a good advertisement for the school. We all went for dinner at a very nice little place at the end of the beach called In Touch before going to bed.
Monday saw Sam and I go to Shark Bay to do some snorkelling. It was nice to go to another area of the island but I was a little disappointed with the snorkelling as the visibility was not great at all. OH and we also had these random little black fish keep biting us! Instead we chose to sit under a palm tree and sun bathe. I got burnt. Not happy.
I have spent the last couple of days doing nothing much at all really. James and Danielle left on Monday night to go to Krabi and Sam left on Tuesday to go to Koh Phangan. I thought I was going to be alone for the next couple days till I met Kimberly. A New Yorker who has a nasty habit of encouraging me to get hammered! Last night Kimberly, Bob and I went out and I didn't get back till 8 am this morning...tut tut tut.
Thinking about moving on earlier now, starting to get itchy feet in Koh Tao. You never know I may actually make it to Australia earlier in September now as originally planned! Keep your eyes peeled and watch this space!
The picture is of us Bouldering, note the nice chalk handprints all over my back!
