Sarah and Nicola Matthews' Travels
Hi,
We are now in Queenstown which is a really fun town, it is also really big compared to the little places we have been staying recently.
Today Nik, Caroline and Loz did a sky dive in Wanaka, I chickened out but majorly regretted it afterwards when they were raving about it. Aparently it was amazing and it was a really gorgeous day so they got beautiful views of the snow capped mountains and the lakes. I think they are all in a state of shock that they did it but i'm really jealous now and so hopefully will do one in Australia.
Apart from that crazy activity we went jet boating and white water rafting yesterday on Shotover canyon in Queenstown. The jet boating was really fun as the boat went really fast and did 360 degree turns, and went through tiny little gaps in the canyon so it was quite scary. The rafting was amazing too, we had a made guide called Dean who looked like Merry from Lord of the rings. We had to go on a hideous tiny little road to get to the place where we started rafting, it was really skinny with major drops on one side - definitely no room for driver error! I was a bit scared about going white water rafting but compared to going back up that road on the bus the rafting was definitely the preferred option!! The beginning of the trip was quite easy but then we hit the rapids and they were really quite rough (grade 4). The best bit was at the end when we rafted through a tunnel and then went through massive rapids at the other side. Luckily we didnt fall in though because it was freezing!!
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the new photos i put on the other day.
