Sarah and Nicola Matthews' Travels
Hey,
We are on the final leg of our New Zealand trip now on our way back up to Christchurch. We had a brilliant few days in Queenstown which is absolutely beautiful and we are now in Dunedin.
Dunedin is the second biggest city in the South Island which isn't really saying much but after the places we have been to it seems like an absolute metropolis!
I feel like a bit of a traitor today because despite living in Birmingham for 4 years I never visited Cadbury's world and today we went to Cadbury's world Dunedin!! It was really fun actually so I'll have to go to the one in Brum now. We got to see loads of lovely chocolate whizzing around the factory and they even had a chocolate waterfall! We got loads of free chocolate so have been stuffing our faces all afternoon - despite the fact that it doesn't taste quite as good as Cadbury's at home!!
This afternoon we went to the Otago peninsula just next to Dunedin to see penguins. The drive was absolute stunning as it was all along the coast. A little bit too close to the coast at some points as there were no barriers between you and the sea - Nikki kept her eyes closed most of the time!! The penguin place was really good, there were a network of trenches and tunnels that you had to walk along to see the penguins from little look outs. Our guide was very good and I am now very knowledgeable about Yellow eyed penguins!! They were really cute with a little yellow punky hair cut and yellow eyes - they looked like baddy penguins!
We are off back to Christchurch tomorrow as it is Loz's last night tomorrow. Cant believe how fast time is going but we are having a wicked time!
