After being poorly we all fancied staying somewhere a bit more upmarket. This wasn't in Sam and Lindsey's budget so they went to find a hostel. We are staying in a town called Ao Nang. The beach here isn't that nice but we are close to Railay beach which is where we wanted to head to. Had a quiet evening as all still felt like we needed to recover.
Headed to Railay beach in the morning, Chels stayed at the hotel as she felt poorly still. We got a long boat to Railay beach. You can only reach it by boat, it's not an island but it's surrounded by limestone cliffs so it's inaccessible by land. Spent the morning on the beach with Sam and Lindsey. The limestone cliffs and greenery made it look so tropical. After a few hours on the beach we could see the storm clouds rolling in. We headed for some cover, we sat in a cave while it lashed it down!!! In the caves there where some shrines, most which involved a lot of statues male genitalia.
Chels looked so much better when we arrived back so us 3 headed out for dinner :). I managed to do some haggling after and got a 'Cath Kidston' bag for my beats by dre. All real of course.
Headed back to Railay beach again. We were going to head up to the view point and lagoon. I felt rough again and it was a massive rock climb to the top, so I missed out :(. The others came back caked in clay. I spent my time on the beach trying to find shade as it was so hot!! I have also nearly finished the book Gone Girl. It's only my second day of reading it. Katie and Mum would be so proud!
Another storm around 3pm, the rain here is like clockwork.
Heading on to Krabi Town ready for our flight to Chiang Mai tomorrow. Then off on the Elephant Conservation Mon, ahhhh
Spent our day in Krabi visiting the Tiger Temple Cave. It was 1,237 steps to reach the top, it was exhausting!!! Took us around an hour, so much sweat!! You then reach the top of the mountain which has amazing views of Krabi. There is also a huge gold Buddha. We could see the rain storm coming in so we headed down quickly. Which was hard considering how steep it was! Got 3/4 way down before it started to rain.
Waiting for a our flight to take to Chiang Mai ready to take us to the elephant park. Something we have had booked for ages so very excited.
