It was red hot so we went up to the roof terrace after breakfast to squeeze some sunbathing in, there was a nice breeze & it felt great not having creepy crawlies everywhere ha! We decided to go to sugarloaf mountain whilst the weather was nice as it was going to change later in the week. We got a taxi to the cable cars then bought our tickets for entry from there! There was two set of cable cars to the top, with restaurants shops & bars on the middle section! The queue was pretty big but it went down really quick! Each cable car held 65 people & has been running since 1912 with quite a few upgrades since! The view from the first stage was impressive as the sun was just setting & we weren’t even at the top bit yet! The second cable car was steeper & even scarier the drop below was pretty dramatic! We were both really impressed with the set up at the top it was a lot more organised than I expected & the viewing platforms were perfectly placed. We got some great pics & enjoyed taking in the views of such a wonderful city! We had a beer whilst admiring a beautiful sunset. We went back to Copacabana afterwards & stopped off in a few beach bars which sold cheap beers kurt was shocked as they all sold Skol beer as the local cerveza! We got to watch kids playing football on the beach & ended up seeing the moonrise over the sea it was unreal, it was like a bright orange fire ball at first, it moved up pretty quickly changing colour as it rose! Wow something we’ve never seen before & so soon after an amazing sunset from sugarloaf quite a lovely ending to a great first day in Rio
