Day two in Dijon. Due to a restless night and waking up with a major sore throat my original plan to get up early to head to the lake for an early mirning swim was cancelled. :-(
Instead we said goodbye to our lovely hosts and checked into our hotel room.
Then we hit up the mustard shop - where they have all sorts of flavored mustard like pesto, apricot and chilli, truffle, and even strawberry! However u could only try a few flavours so if they were any good or not was left unknown.
Next we met up with our very friendly guide Elohim and were happy to discover we were the only ones signed up for the tour!!
Wr drive through the vineyards stopping to try some grapes that were nearly ready for harvesting and he told us all about what make burgundy wines so good- but also how they vary so much! Very interesting! We stopped at a cellar for a wine tasting , and tasted 5 different wines. Then we stopped by a cheese factory to see how yummy French cheese is made, and then to the second wine tasting- which was paired with a selection of cheeses that Elohim had bought for us to try! Yum yum yum!
Next stop the town of Beaune, where it started pouring with rain. We discovered that almost all towns in France have these three things. 1. A church called Notre dame. 2. An arc de triumph and 3. A carrousel!
After a hot chocolate and a chocolate eclaire I did a lap around the town center and then we headed back to Dijon, spotting a beautiful rainbow on the way! :-)
