Watch out Ramsey!

Whilst we were in Hoi AN we took a cooking course to try and immerse ourselves in the Vietnamese culture. This turned out to be a right laugh. After a guided tour throught the markets we were taken by boat to an exclusive cooking school. Here a chef stood in front of us demonstrating these culinary creations while we sat and watched, a little bit like school, slightly nervous about what we would have to do next. Well Jim and I weren't that bad, we managed to create our own spring rolls (even though my rice paper kept getting a hole in it), vietnamese pancake (that Jim nearly ruined by flipping it and it falling into a heap in the middle of the pan) and aubergine dish with lemongrass (which Jim did very well but my pot had a hole in the bottom so I was slightly hindered with that one). We also learnt about food decoration and Jim created a beautiful fan out of cucumber (mine was rubbish) and I perfected the tomato rose (Jims sort of fell apart a abit). All things considered though, the food was delicious. Watch out Ramsey, Crabtree and Reynolds are coming.
