Animals Everywhere

Our first day in Sydney so started off with the walking tour that took us through the botantical gardens to the Opera House and Harbour. We were enjoying the walk through the beautiful sunshine until we got to the gardens. As we entered we were faced with MASSIVE orb spiders as big as your hand (no exaggerations) just sitting in their webs waiting to get me! After got over that shock a little bit we started to become aware of what is described in the lonely planet as 'twittering' in the trees. Well its not what I would call twittering, in fact, its full on sqwarking coming from a rather large colony of 'flying foxes' fruit bats just hanging upside down in the trees, again obviously waiting to get me!
