The track is shared with freight trains. Much of the route is single track with passing places. I have never seen so many freight trains and they have priority of use. This picture tries to demonstrate how long these trains are. This one was about 2 miles long and they can be up to 3 miles. Signal controlling is a work of art !! Most of the day we have spent in the viewing gallery which looks out along the top of the train from the last carriage. The train was a quarter of a mile long and we could watch it going round all the corners.

Here is Mt Robson the highest peak in Canada. We have many other peaks to show those of you who are interested when we return !!!!

All of the day the scenery was magnificent and the next few photos show some of it. Here is a frozen waterfall which the train slows to 5mph for photographs.

Both our impressions of the train corridor and the cabins was Agatha Christie novels. Neither of us had slept in a train cabin before.
