Most of the trees round Beaver Lake are protected with wire mesh. Here is a tree that has been gnawed away and brought down. Again one of the many things we have not seen before.

In the centre of this park is this lake and as you can see is where beavers live. Apparently there are two but we did not see them. Also there are raccoons in the Park and we went looking for them and we did not see these either.

Being non experts we think this is a different type of heron. What do you think ?

Continuing with our wildlife scenes we have seen more today. Here is a great Blue Heron. Somehow they seem tamer than UK herons and do not fly off as quickly.

Today is Thursday and we have spent all day walking round this Park. First the whole of the coastline which is a peninsular and 6 miles then the interior through forests and around lakes. We were lucky with the weather again. Here we walked under the Lion Gate Bridge with Grouse Mountain behind. Tomorrow we have our last day in Vancouver then board the train in the evening. The train goes through the Rockies and we will be on it for 20 hours. Good pictures hope...
