We came across the equivalent today of our gingerbread man !!! Mr Kiwi.

Today we drove up part of the NW Coast which is said to be one of the best coastal drives. We agree. Here are the Pudding Rocks, an amazing formation.

We had two possible routes north from Mt Cook. We opted for Arthur's Pass which as you might expect had more exciting scenery. This is one of the scenic railway routes as is one near Dunedin. We did not do either. Trying to do everything is impossible. We are saving our train ride for Canada. We did a walk in Arthur's Pass up to this waterfall. Going this way meant we missed seeing Franz Joseph and Fox Glaciers.

In our travels especially with our caravan this is one of the most peculiar shapes we have seen !!!

Whilst Mt Cook is outside our technical ability to ascend it has been good to look at it from many angles. There are 138 recorded deaths in attempts on this mountain, whilst under 4000 m in heights it is unstable and has unpredictable weather. What an evening when this is your view from the camper van window.
