After leaving Thailand heartbroken, we got our last Asian bus to Penang, Malaysia. We stayed in an awesome hostel with the bubbliest owner ever! However, we didn't feel very comfortable in Penang, the people are quite threatening and intimidating and we've returned to a place where comments and leery men are rife. On our last few days in Ko Tao we hired motorbikes and tried to get to some of the bays round the island. This proved to be easier said than done, as there is only one proper road on the island, the rest are dirt tracks full of pot holes - we felt like we were doing motocross rather than a relaxing drive to the beach! After our Mekong Delta trip we got on a bus to the capital, Phnom Penh. We saw some really poor areas on the drive, but when we got to the capital we were surprised at the contrast as it was so modern and developed. We decided to hire motorbike taxis for the day and went to see the Killing Fields.
