Sarah's and Becky's Travels...!
Hey all!
This is our final journal entry from India, and feeling in a much happier mood than last time we wrote!!! (Thank god i hear you say!!!)
Before we arrived in Mumbai (Bombay) we went to Jodhpur which was really nice! We were very cultural and went straight to the Fort as soon as we got there which was in fact very interesting! It was very funny though as it was an audio tour so we were walking round with sunglasses on...headphones on...controller round our neck and camera ready! We looked great! (pic will be put up !!) Our theory is that if people are gonna stare at us anyway, we may as well give them a reason to! lol
Jodhpur is named the blue city and a lot of the houses are actually blue. When you see it from above it looks pretty awesome!!
We then had to brave the overnight train to Mumbai. We were feeling a little nervous about it as people have said you get things stolen but then we were sitting having lunch talking to the waiter, and he said that we should be very careful as he had seen men behaving inappropriately towards foreign people on this train - we were a little worried to say the least! As it happens...the worst thing that happened was that we were sat next to possibly the noisiest family ever! So it was all ok!! Very amusing and a little weird sleeping on a bed on a train tho!!
Mumbai is actually really nice and although a bit more expensive, is much more relaxed than other places! We have been seriously deprived of any other tourists over the last 3 weeks, so are now staying in the tourist central and its great! Not too many, but there are other tourists around! Its soo nice! :o)
We have seen The Gateway to India and the Taj Mahal Palace and the apparently famous Victoria Train Station here, but the most exciting thing that happened was a guy who was filming an indian pop song wanted 2 white females to be in the background of the video ( i know this sounds v dodgy, but its for real!). Unfortunately though we could not do it because we are flying out in a couple of hours, which is a shame! Oh well, maybe we will be spotted once we get to Hollywood!!!! We can dream!!
So..in conclusion of India....Don't book an all inclusive deal with promised luxury accomodation when its not....but a driver is very useful!! Place is pretty amazing, but its hard to find honest, nice people..but there are a few out there!! It feels like we have been away much longer than 3 weeks, but we have had so much fun and seen the amazing way they live in India its been worth it...but we are looking forward to moving on to Thailand and experiencing something totally different (fingers crossed!)
Lots of love
Bec and Sarah xxx
