Oh my god, this internet thing makes me nervous! I have like blocks of 15 mins for $1 I think and my god does it panic me, im writing like a mad woman!
So what the hell have I been up to since yesterday morning? Erm, think, Sarah, thinkkkkk! Was it even yesterday? Im so confused right now! So, yesterday I walked to the visitor booth in the centre of Melbourne. They were FANTASTIC and gave me maps and told me how the trams work here. I decided to walk to the Eureka Tower which opened at 10am stopping for a rather lovely smoothie on the way and a sit down outside St Paul's Cathedral. I walked along the Yarra (a river that runs through the centre) taking like a million pics on the way and got a bit lost trying to find the tallest building in Melbourne! (Seriously, only I could do such a thing?! Trying to figure out which was taller between two towers takes a while for my wee brain!) Anyway, I found it and went in the fastest lift ever! Takes like 39 seconds to go up 88 floors! Scary! The views were amazing from there. The terrace was the scariest bit I think...too windy and put me right off balance! I decided to try 'The Edge', a bit of building overhanging (hmmm, is that right?!) anyway, it wasn't too scary. You can see right through to the ground underneath. Got to wear some pretty special slip on shoes for that one, just wait til you see the photo! After that I went to the Aquarium. Saw penguins, sharks, stingrags, fish, turtles and lots more. Really liked it there. Especially the one penguin who followed me! It was raining cats and dogs yesterday so after getting drenched (and lost again) i went into the Immigration Museum to stay dry. It was actually quite cool in there (and free...always a bonus!) Came back to the hostel and went back on the tram for another free ride and then went to bed as the jet lags a b*tch and I keep waking at 5.30am n wanting to sleep early!
Today, I went on the Great Ocean Road day trip i booked back in the UK. OMG (i hate that saying, but it is totally appropriate!) IT WAS AMAZING! I went in a bloody helicopter over the 12 Apostles! Met a fantastic girl called Laura who's from Hampshire but lived out in OZ a few years ago for 4 years and now lives back in the Uk but was visiting relatives and friends. Laughed so much it actually hurt. Mainly at photos of me looking like a k*** with bad lion mane hair and strange accidental photos. You'll understand when i figure out how to put photos on here! Anyway, me and Laura decided to go for the helicopter ride despite both hating flying. We were the only ones too! God, it was just beautiful. Wanted to go again as soon as we landed! Got back at about 8pm and been chatting with a girl called Sunni from my dorm. She's so funny. Her and her friend Louise got so drunk last night and they're off seeing Tiesto (jealous much Michelle!?) tonight but they're so tired after no sleep. Hilarious watching them try to get ready.
So tomorrow, im not sure what im doing yet. Sunni mentioned that she wanted to come to St Kilda with me for a wander so we'll see how delicate she's feeling and if she even returns to the dorm! I want to go the the Zoo and China Town and another museum thing. Then on Monday I have my Neighbours tour so im sure ill be busy busy til i leave for Alice on Tuesday.
Hope everyone's ok! Love Sarah xxxxxx
