So it's been awhile since my last entry. Probably because I really haven't been up to much. I just got over a cold, to discover I'm coming down with another. So that kind of has put a damper on enjoy my time here. This entry is going to be VERY random and jump from point to point because that's how my life is at the moment!
We finally found our way through a residential area to get to campus, so I've officially walked alone to and from campus! I got the wireless hooked up on my laptop so I can be connected on campus. Another one of my seminars starts this week, so I'm hoping to meet some more people. I've met some girls from West Virginia that are really nice...it's just odd because it seems that even the random people I talk to are from the States or are an exchange student. Really the only Irish person I've met is my roommate.
I could not be happier with the living situation. Fiona (our other roommate) is incredibly nice and we watch America's Next Top Model together. We're all getting along very well. Our electricity cards have lasted us up till now. We had to buy a 5 euro extra one for the week until our next rent is due.
I'm enjoying cooking for myself and making meals. It's wonderful. :) And yay for cheap meat. I finally have a set limit as to what I can spend each week. Now that things have calmed down and I've purchased all my one time purchases (like my garbage can, back pack, etc.).
I decorated my room yesterday and it looks awesome thanks to the cork board and hooks that my parents sent over in a package to me. (Thanks again mom and dad!) Pictures will be posted as soon as I get pictures up on the cork boards. I must say though, the room has a much better vibe now and I love it!
The weather's been nice. A bit chilly every so often, but I can't complain because it's like 4 degrees and massive snow storms back home. I can get by, for the most part, in just wearing my columbia fleece everywhere I go.
We went to town the other day and met 2 random gay guys on the bus. We ended up going for a drink with them and sat and talked for 3 hours! We're making plans to go kareoking with them sometime in the future.
Last Wednesday Captain America's (yes...I know, the name of it has the word 'america' in it) had student night with 3 euro drinks and kareoke. So we all went for that and Melanie ended up singing. We're going again tomorrow...I vowed on the last night that I'd go up and sing Mmmbop. ;-)
Melanie's 21st birthday is next week and we're going out to dinner with our international office advisors who will be in town for the day. What a better birthday present - a free dinner! I promised I'd bake her a birthday cake though.
That's really about it...I'm attempting to plan a trip to Spain to visit Kim sometime in April. Which is exciting! Melanie's parents are visiting the 3rd week in March and have rented a condo in Wicklow, so Danelle, Mel and I may go stay with them for a bit and take in the Irish sights!
That's all for now...I'm sure I'll update once something exciting happens. But as it seems, I'm just going to classes and enjoying my days off!
