Here's update #1 of a ton!
Galway was a rather bland experience in all honesty. The city itself does not have much to offer, or at least when it raining out. I traveled by bus with Cass, Nick, Becky, Mel, and Danelle and we stayed at the Kinley House, which is basically a 2 minute walk away from the bus station. It rained the entire time we were there the first day. We wandered around the city a bit, checked out the local farmers market. I finally got myself a claddaugh ring! After that,Danelle, Cass and I ended up wandering around and finding the Galway City Museum. Which was basically three floors of nothingness. But, it managed to keep us out of the rain for awhile. Eventually we met back up with everyone at the hostel. We were all so tired since we had caught the 8am bus to Galway, which required us to be at the bus station by 7:30, which meant leaving the apartments at 7am. Which meant meeting at 6:45. We played a crazy game of crazy 8's and then ventured out for dinner. Found a fairly cheap restreaunt and got some food. I ordered some Shepard's Pie, whereas Becky and Mel got MASSIVE hamburgers, that was more like a ball of meat on a bun. It was sad, but at 8pm, we all decided to attempt to go to sleep, we had the Cliffs of Moher tour in the morning.
The next day turned out to be quite the experience. We had amazing weather and a beautiful sight to see. The overall tour took pretty much the entire day, but it was well worth it. We stopped at a few stops on the way, including a cute little town right before the Cliffs to get lunch and some hot chocolate. The last two times that I had gone to the Cliffs, I had never gotten to experience it from the vantage point that I did this time. The pictures never do it justice. I can't even begin to describe the beauty. We had been given a hour there, and then we were taken the Aillwee Caves. It was pretty cool, but a typical caves tour.
Once we got back to the city center of Galway, it was time to hitch the bus back to Dublin. It was about a 3.5 hour bus ride. Ridiculous. We ended up getting stuck in a traffic jam, but managed to make it back.
Until next time, cheers! :)
