Driving to Rocamadour, the Terran has changed from mostly flat with rolling hills to hills and valleys. The countryside is dotted with chateaus. Hard to find a cafe or McDonald's, always restaurant with course meals. Sometimes things get lost in translation...thin beef was raw thin beef! Not! Many sunflower fields, with their heads hanging sadly towards the ground. As we descended the hill Rocamadour appeared hanging on the hillside above the gorge. Our hotel was inside the stone entry. Therefore we drove in amongst the tourist on the city street. Took lift to level of the Church and sanctuary. The Chateau at the top of the hill is just a view point. Wondered back through the tourist shops. Dinner on the terrace. All meals have started with a bowl of olives. French style prime rib is quite different but very good. Tasted Rocamadour goat cheese, and yes all food goes great with wine.
