Armed with only a blackboard, chalk and a grammar book that I nicked off another volunteer, I made it through my first class! Woohoo! It was pretty scary at first, but I had nothing to worry about. The kids were really good, if a little shy around me, but I forced them to talk and have fun and we got through it. They even applauded me at the end. Bless!
I've been roped into doing an afternoon class too with one of the other girls. We'll teach the local Masai boys English. They come over to the house for that, so I won't have to learn another route thankfully. Then after that I'll be taking my daily Swahili class which starts today, before i prep for tomorrows class. Phew, I'll need another holiday after this.
The walk to school is lovely and takes around an hour, but it's so easy to get lost, especially with my exceptional sense of direction. With Kili in the background we walk through the outskirts of Moshi to get to our placements. There's dust everywhere, so by the time I arrive I need another shower. Hey ho!
I'll try and get some more pics online soon.
