So it's finally time to go home. Can't believe it's gone so quickly! We arrived in Johannesburg yesterday evening and I haven't really had much chance to explore. We're in the nice part of town, although some of the others went out last night to the really dodgy bits. The last week has consisted of lots of travelling through Botswana and northern South Africa. We went to Kruger on Monday which was cool, but really needs longer than a day to do it justice. We saw a cheetah there which I was chuffed about as I hadn't seen one yet. Kruger is a lot more commercial than the parks I saw in East Africa and I have to say that I didn't like it as much. Anyone can drive around and there are proper tarmac roads and big shops and big campsites and picnic spots. It was still a beautiful park though. The night before we went on a night game drive at a private reserve. We got within a metre of lions, elephants, buffalo and a leopard. It was amazing! Botswana was lovely too. We stayed at a great campsite which has a watering hole next to the swimming pool where the local elephants come to hang out. Very cool to see! We also went on a river safari at the chobe national park and saw loads of hippos and elephants. I'll never get bored of the wildlife. Life is more civilsed the further south you get. The towns are more built up and I haven't seen a long drop now for weeks. :-) Anyway, best go catch my flight now. I've had the most amazing time out here and really don't want it to end. There's so much more to see and do and will definitely be coming back. Overlanding's been a great way to get a taster of Africa. I hope you enjoy the last of the photos and thanks for reading the blog and posting the messages. I will see you all very soon.

PS Happy birthday ma!
