After a very busy morning in Hong Kong we scurried to the Airport Express and made our way to the airport in time for our mid-afternoon Cathay Pacific flight to Bangkok. A comfortable, business class freebie thanks to all those BA air miles! After a few hours in transit spent working in the lounge we boarded our late night Colombo bound flight and finally made our destination at about 12.30 am. Sri Lanka is two and a half hours behind Hong Kong, strange but true.

Our trip through the airport was very smooth and fast. It was well worth having bought our visa online as this saved us having to queue. Past immigration and our luggage was already arriving so straight out to be met by our smiley person from The Great Travel Company holding up a sign. All going to plan so far!

We were led outside and introduced to our Chauffeur Guide named Hashan. Just a short drive away and we were at our hotel for the night, The Amagi Lagoon Resort and Spa. Newly built, quite smart and modern, and pretty much deserted at this time of night. Nevertheless we were greeted in a friendly manner, soon checked in and shown up to our modern, spacious room. Touch down to hotel room in 45 minutes, not bad going!!!
