"You were right about one thing, Master - the negotiations were short"
-- Phantom Menace
We finished our lovely two day trek through Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the most beautiful places on earth.
I won't harp on about it, as the pictures speak for themselves but this was definitely one of the highlights of China.
We had left our big bags in the last guesthouse at the start of the trek so each had a smaller bag with a change of clothes and a toothbrush. Some people do do this with their big bags, but these people are stupid.
We stayed in the Halfway Guesthouse along the way, about twenty of us who had all started the walk at different times (we managed to start last and finish first... we're great, we are).
Much hilarity was to be had when a young English guy asked Vinny if he could have his photo taken with him, while he said "The negotiations were short", as, completely without encouragement from me, he thought he was Obi Wan Kenobi.
The sun was shining the whole time, the sweat was pouring off us and there were an awful lot of massive bright yellow spiders around the place.
But it was great.
The night we got back to the guesthouse and our bags there was a thunder storm that lasted for about ten hours, with lightning slashing it's way across the mountains and us thinking we were in a really bad disco.
So we got lucky - As is our style.
