"Yo, She-b****....... Let's go" - Bruce Cambell
"Sure, I could have stayed in the past. Hell, I could have probably been King. But in a lot of ways, I am a king. Hail to the King, baby" - Bruce Cambell
Everywhere I go, people are always asking me... "Who is Bruce Cambell?"
And by everyone, I mean at least one person. Bless his cottons, he has become the Australian against whom all other Australians are judged, and found wanting. Vinny's Mum is demanding pictures. My e-mail inbox is literally crammed with threats and abuse - so nothing new there, but some of them are asking for pictures of Bruce Cambell.
Across the backpacker world he is becoming a thing of epic proportions. People who have never met him will say after making an unfair sweeping generalisation about Australians, "Well, apart from Bruce Cambell, obviously".
As the above picture shows, Bruce Cambell is an active man of many talents. Here, Vinny has caught him in an 'action' shot, wrestling with his own camera. Bruce is explaining to his camera that he, Bruce, is the boss around here and if the camera thinks about getting uppity then it had better get ready because Bruce is here to kick ass and chew bubblegum - and he's all out of gum.
Here Bruce relaxes in the company of Annica our Swedish friend, showing his sensitive, feminine side (which at no stage detracts from his manly, rugged masculine side) and proving that he's as much a hit with the ladies as any of us could ever hope to be. Moments after this photo was taken Bruce offered Annica a signed copy of his book, "Make Love The Bruce Cambell Way".
Here Bruce Cambell has lost his hand fighting the Deadites, but has replaced it with a chainsaw. We're not sure when this photo was taken.... maybe Moscow.
They say a picture speaks a thousand words... and at least one of them is 'f***'.
Here Bruce, aware that I'm camera shy, heroically 'takes one for the team', leaping in front of the lense like he would an assassin's bullet. They call him the 'Man of a thousand faces', and here's face number 792 - "The Chin Grin".
It may be argued that we shouldn't make Travelpod entries about silly things like this, as they in no way help fellow travellers (and yes, Karim and Polly, I'm looking at you two).
Oh well.
