Interesting day today! Started off with a short hike around the tea plantation where we stayed. The kelberne estate is very large and situated on the side of a hill over looking the most beautiful scenery. Hiked along to the big rock before heading up through the tea bushes to our bungalow. There are only 3 bungalows on the estate that used to house the various bosses of the plantation but they have transformed so that people can stay in them. Although I say transformed, I am sure it is better than years beforehand although it does still look as though they are in the 50's.
Breakfast was set out on the terrace overlooking the vast countryside that lets be honest with you is some of the best in the world. Hoppers with eggs are amazeballs.
Next stop a tea plantation that belongs to the Lipton people or so we thought. Found a little nature walk and we thought this would be an amazing idea. It started off fab, giant squirrels, beautiful butterflies and the choral sounds of the birds. On the way back down though a swarm of bees had other ideas for me. One stung me and then they all began to attack. I was terrifified as I have never been stung before and wasn't sure if I had any allergies. 17 stings all in all with a visit to the doctor in Haputale. I am relieved as I don't appear to be allergic but it was one of the scariest moments of my life.
Made our way to the Melheim resort where they allowed us check in because of my state!
