After arriving and checking in we went for a short walk to the supermarket, the weather wasnt looking to great so we were hoping for better weather the following day as Sam had her Skydive.

Our fellow bus travellers all decided we should get together in the evening and have a few drinks seeing as the reception to Base Backpackers (where we were staying for 2 nights) gave us 2 for 1 vouchers. we had a great night with everyone got to knoe one another a bit better. the glasses of wine were massive as they didnt seem so strict on measurements and tend to just pour it in. the 2 for 1 vouchers were definately a good idea. the night flew by and at about 4.30am we couldnt continue and went to bed.

in the morning we both had sore heads (self inflicted), sam was due to be in reception by 11am, i nearly didnt go with her because i still felt drunk, but i wanted to giver her moral support so just got ready and we went. she says she just got in a plane and fell out of it thats what it felt like, as she didnt really put much thought into it. Not even going up in the plane but when they opened the door she shouted 'i dont want to do this, i dont want to do this!' but she had no choice. she obviously did want to do it but it just hit her when they opened the door. it cleared her head and her hangover and she also told me she got quite emotional on the way down when they pulled the parachute, i guess she could relax now and watch the view. it was fun watching the videos and everyone came back very elated and excited. i was quite happy staying on the ground as im so so scared of heights. i was very proud of Sam though and thought she was very brave. That evening we just got some dinner and slept as we were so tired. Unforunately we missed Ryans's (guy on the bus) last night as we fell asleep, but we do have lans to meet with him in LA.

Taupo was a lovely place with it's Lake which is it main attraction (lake taupo), people like to do their skydives here as they can do it over the lake and see the beautiful scenery and also it is one of the cheapest places to do it.
