Sleep. The final frontier ( of the ones I'm willing to blog about)
Sleep comes very easily here. All the time. Anywhere a little snooze is in the offing. So we take it.
But after that what we call A proper nights sleep is elusive.
Obvs we kind of know why?
We drop off to sleep like stones. Because we are probably a bit drunk
But then a couple of hours later it's the early hours past midnight and you are wide awake. I find steve on the floor doing yoga. I don't think he's fallen out of bed as is usual, it's near impossible to get out from the mosquito net even when you plan a good escape route. He is the same as me- just woken up ( and his back is tight). And sleep is not going to return for some hours.
Is it because of the time difference to back home?
Is it because we napped too much? Maybe?
Or No. Its Alcohol. It's so bloody cheap!! It's so attractive in cocktails! Like puddings that make you feel great ( and ultimately I don't think there are many of those- generally l feel full up and then a little sick is more like my post pudding delight?). And 3 for the price of 2! Who would refuse a free drink when you've already had more than you meant? Actually, i would normally refuse. But this is holiday.
So we read until we are yawning so much and still no sleep arrives.... Until about 9am and we wake-up slowly this time and heavily because sometime in the night we slept again.
I've just turned to Steve at breakfast and he's done a full on yawn in my face. I know! Sleep!
Sadly my old bikini is coming to its end. It could be 10 or 15 years old! Time for a new one which opens up new adventures of trying the things on behind curtains in the open shops. The "curtain" hangs by string right across the shop. Having a slight tan before you bikini shop helps confidence. Also in a way not having a mirror to look at helps a lot too!
This morning I also had some drumming fun. The guy in the shop was brilliant and he wanted to give me lessons as well as a drum to practice on. I think anyway! I also think he said I was very good. But we said our sorrys and goodbyes.
We picked up a tut tut to take us to the Small Cafe. Vegan and gf and so I'm drawn to it like a magnet. But I went and I had another slice of cake and I've decided I'm not going to go again. It's too far to walk and too near to tut tut and I still don't feel good after " healthy cake". Go figure?
