A mixed day yesterday.
The late afternoon we were persuaded we should have another "Ayurverdic" treatment. This was in a tent and the coverings on the massage table were ..odd! If our first experience in Anjuna was the most amazing 10/10 then we gave this one a lowish mark. It was after all a full body massage.
So our waiter today at breakfast asked if we would like a treatment and we said no. We had one yesterday and it wasn't good- we are not going back. We have been spoilt by Anjuna!!! Everyone here likes to be so helpful and so he said he knew a really good place. He actually came back with the guy who had sold yesterday's debacle to us. We looked at each other the guy, me and Steve. I said that's who we had yesterday. What followed next was shouting in Goan. The waiter wanted to know how much we had been charged (embarrassing) and they went off shouting more. Our waiter came back to tell us that guy had now become a fraud and not the best. The best was over there and he would take us when we wanted to go. Steve and i would rather run away!
Cozy Nook Bar yesterday evening was very bohemian. All interwoven with vines and little mirrors. A Gaudi self build. Steve said he initially found it confusing as he couldn't see a pathway through the tables. Not being set out in squares makes his brain struggle!
The people there were having a great time celebrating Holy Day. Covered in paint powder. Spreading their love ( and paint). Lucky for me Steve keeps them at bay just by the way he forgets to include a different facial expression every now and then! The food was lovely, the alcohol shots were massive! I ordered 2 drinks and may have had 6 !!!
Sleep obviously became the next prioirity after Steve whooped me at Uno. He's just told me now he was letting me off when I only picked up 2 cards and should have taken 6!! The fact he remembers these numbers is beyond me!
So settling to sleep inside the lovely netted bed and I'm reading my kindle. This also - I have realised helps to attract any rogue flying thing that has got through the mosquito barriers ( plug in, spray and net).
Almost immediately one became entranced by my kindle. Got it. All's well. Then another and I spot something on the sheet next to me. I'm yelling turn the bloody light on Steve we are being invaded! When the light comes on we are horrified! The top of the mosquito net was absolutely covered in little cm long thin flying things! Some were finding their way through the net too ( obvs)!
Strategic Sal and steve come to the fore. We are masters of crisis management! Give us a disaster and we can solve it. This is lucky because we are given so many!
So we carefully remove the netting folding it in on itself and get it outside to free the highly confused insects.
Back inside and the net up safely we check for any more insects. Nope. All clear. Bed clear. Just that bloody gecko up the wall! We call them Christpher in our family.
We decide to let him be. This morning the cleaners gone in to root him out. Brave woman!
This place is absolutely fantastic!! I bet Thomas Cook never sold such an amazing holiday!!
