Today we headed to the wharf where the cruise ships come in and had some breakfast. We met an older Aussie couple there from Sydney. They have been away for a 49 night cruise and don't head home until late May! Wowza lucky for some. They were pretty excited to meet some fellow Aussies as were we. I forgot to mention that we met some Aussies in Williams Arizona. They were from Brisbane. But the funny thing is the guy went to Kirwan High & graduated just a few years prior.
We decided to jump on the train and see where it will take us. For $1.50 each train ride isn't bad. We took the train to Hollywood Boulevard for a look around the Hollywood walk of fame. It was fairly good but there is so many stars in the pavement & we only knew so many. Much more exciting was a little further down the street were stars hand and footprints inscribed in the pavement along with their names and dates. They went all the way back to the 50's it was excellent. Unfortunately we only had a few hours of the afternoon to look around but we had seen quite a lot - mickey mouse, lots of spiderman dress ups, Marcel Marceau, Elvis plus lots of crazy people including a guy riding a gofer in a fur monkey suit. It was hilarious! We were pestered a lot by people trying to sell us shows similar to vegas but they seemed to be on every corner it was hard to escape. We plan on doing a tour when we return from New York.
We hopped back on the train headed for Long Beach. On our return we picked up a lot of basketball fans returning from the Lakers game. A rowdy bunch but a lot of fun compared to the scary looking people we had riding on the way there. Earlier in the morning there had been a charity fun ride in the city of Los Angeles but seems the people all caught the train home and it was a bit of a maze of pushbikes in the train car.
All packed and ready to return the RV & head to New York tomorrow. We are super excited for the next stage of our trip :)
