Andy came over from London and we went to Audioscope07 at Carling Academy (formerly The Zodiac, formerly The Coven, formerly The Co-op Hall). It was a gig from 1.30pm - 11pm in aid of Shelter, organised by Andy's friend's friend. Back home! Met up with MLC friends in Lima then spent the following two days in bed with food poisoning. Flew home through Atlanta where I got scorched in the 38C heat because my sunblock had been confiscated at Lima Airport. Was welcomed home by a moulting, fat white cat and am now uploading photos to go with my blog entries.

Today is my last day working for Brewin Dolphin so Hans and Jeremy kindly took me out for lunch at The Living Room in the new castle complex. The ordering was plagued with indecision and took nearly as long as the food did to arrive. We managed to struggle <sigh> through the delicious three-course meal ;-) in the gorgeous sunshine and then on the way back to the office dropped by Krispy Kreme to pick up some doughnuts which were delightful. Carlin, also teaching with me and Emma in Chiba 10 years ago, popped over from London. As with Emma and Yoshi, it was great seeing him again!  We looked round the fairly newly developed Oxford Castle area and inside the Malmaison hotel, which used to be the city prison.  I walked home via the river.

Emma & Yoshi came to visit from Winchester. We've been friends for 10 years, since Emma and I were teaching English in Chiba. We pottered about Oxford, then went back to my place for a yummy dinner where I made them watch Doctor Who and Any Dream Will Do!
