The day began early, breakfast at 6am followed by the first driver who was conservative on the roads. Our stay at the Radisson Blu Deira Creek was great. The service amazing, all the staff were so considerate – even the man delivering the newspapers who noticed us coming from our room with our baggage, so he went and pressed the lift button so the lift was waiting for us. Dubai – everything has to be the biggest and the best!!!!
Hours were spent at the airport. We had to go to a gate, then another gate, then get on a bus that was standing room only – and drive 20 minutes to the plane. We then stood in the hot Dubai sun, queuing to go up the stairs to enter the plane at the rear. At least 15 people checked our passport and boarding pass – yet no one noticed that we should have got on a bus that stopped at the front stairs – 'scuse me, 'scuse me – all the way to seats 12 A and B.
We were on a 777. Great flight. Lots of leg room for Stan. Again the Dubai way – great service
Once in Prague we were picked up by a man from the hotel. The amazing Hotel Pod Vezi. He spoke in very broken English but recommended where to visit and more importantly which beer to drink. Stan focused on the pronunciation of Staropramen!
Our hotel room was beautiful. Room 34 – Superior Room (we were upgraded) overlooking the Charles Bridge. A quick tour of the local area and a couple of beers in the room – too worn out to do too much – and importantly- we had a Swans match to watch….Cheer Cheer.
