We found the local bus station and asked the driver to take us to the "cascadas" - luckily he understood my Spanish and told us when we needed to get off. We had to pay a small entrance fee and then it was a 20 minute hike to the waterfall. The place was beautiful and there were people rappelling down the waterfall while we were there! We sat and enjoyed the sunshine and the view for a while before heading back to try and get a bus back to town. While we were busy trying to take photos of dragonflies the bus drove past and we missed it! There isn't really an exact bus schedule so we weren't sure when the next one would come. Luckily as we walked out to wait in the road for the next bus a lovely South American family who had been at the waterfalls drove past and asked us if we needed a ride to San Gil!! The mum and dad didn't speak any English but the son must have been learning English at school and they kept telling him to practice so he was acting as translator! Was so nice of them and saved us a bus ride :)
